LIVE WELL, IGNITE THE DREAM, CONQUER THE CHALLENGE

WHAT WE DO

Reason To Be is here to help you thrive rather than just survive or sit in your comfort zone.

We work with people who want to put their holistic well-being at the heart of who they are, what they do and what they want to be.  We really enjoy working with those who want to get the most out of themselves, take on a challenge and stretch themselves or learn something new or different, but need a little support or guidance in doing that.  We are here to help if you:

  • Are looking to improve your overall health

  • Want a better work-life balance

  • Are a business leader wanting to up your performance through better well-being

  • Have a specific challenge you are aiming to complete

Our philosophy is simple; ‘dare to dream’, live life well, challenge yourself and conquer the challenges you take on!
Everything we do revolves around thinking big but acting small to ensure well-being is an everyday essential. We also believe that everyone needs a purpose to help focus on what’s important – for life, this year, this month, for today and even the next hour.

Our view of well-being is that it is not just one thing, it is a series of systems that all work together to help us thrive.
You can make a big change to one part of you (doing more exercise) but you’ll get a better effect by balancing this with changes to your other interdependent systems.   We can help you make effective changes to your overall well-being by focusing on our 5 foundations of well-being:

  • Emotional well-being

  • Nutritional well-being

  • Physical well-being

  • Social well-being

  • Mental well-being

Some people come to us with a particular focus in mind
- their resilience or mental toughness, their energy levels or their sleep.  Some come to proactively develop their longer-term health. Others want to take their well-being to the next level and dare to be different.   We not only work with individuals and teams, but we also provide programmes for businesses and organisations as part of their corporate employee well-being offering. We are equally happy and have the experience to design an offering just for you, your family or for your team at work. Here’s some of what we offer:

  • Webinars

  • Individual well-being coaching

  • Standard workshops from basic to advanced levels

  • Well-being getaways

  • Support for those who are taking on a specific challenge

  • Exec refresh getaways

At our heart is evidence-based practice and science
that is supported by many years of practical experience of knowing how to bring good science to life for everyday people. Our advice and guidance is incisive, challenging but most of all supportive. We truly believe in people being able to change, and we know some good science to help them to!  Why would you work with us?

  • We are highly qualified

  • We have lots of experience

  • We practice what we preach

  • We like to have some fun!

Keith Goddard-01 2.png

Hi, I’m Keith and my passions are around helping people realise their dreams, take on challenges that stretch them and live life to the full. For the last 30 years I’ve worked with individuals and teams to help them thrive, supporting them with their well-being, their performance and developing their careers.

I have extensive experience of helping business leaders and executives balance the demands of senior roles with their well-being and work-life balance. I specialise in extreme contexts and challenges, developing holistic well-being and growing resilience, especially for endurance and mental toughness. I’ve supported individuals doing extreme challenges such as Coxless Crew Pacific row; CommonOars GB Row; Mt.Everest ascent, and I was also part of the 2012 London Paralympics support team.

Professionally, I’m a Registered Sport & Exercise Psychologist and a Registered Occupational Psychologist, as well as a Coaching Psychologist and Chartered Scientist. Personally, I love trekking, nature and travelling with my wife and young daughter; as well as by myself sometimes! Some of my favourite memories are completing the MdS, Kilimanjaro, base camp Everest (Tibet), Mt.Kinabalu, Fish River Canyon, and competing in the OMM.  I would describe my career and life as varied but not too extreme!

Aurea Fellows-01 2.png

Hi, I’m Aurea and I believe in the power of lifestyle choices to empower people to optimise their health and perform at their best.

My experience over the last 25 years has been focused on supporting leaders and their teams to operate effectively, achieve their goals and get the most out of their life and career.  I specialise in working with busy professionals who want to re-balance their lives and take steps to improve their energy and well-being.  I’m passionate about coaching people to identify the choices that will work for them so they feel great, stay healthy and have long and successful lives.  I also believe enjoying life is critical and that being healthy shouldn’t feel like a chore! I’m a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and a Registered Occupational Psychologist with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). I’m also a Registered Nutritional Therapist.

In my time away from work I like to cook and be active outdoors.  When I get the chance to get away, I love travelling with my husband, particularly when we can go scuba diving, skiing or walking.  Some of my highlights would be diving in Borneo, the Komodo Islands and Tanzania, as well as completing the Inca trail and climbing Mt.Kinabalu.  My motivation is to find challenges that allow me to be active and to discover more about the natural world.
